Hero Arts Wreath card and tags

I'm sharing over at A2ZScrapbooking today. And here is the card I have made with Hero Arts Wreath stamp and die set (SB120 - they can also be purchased separately CL970 stamps and DI152 die cuts)

Hero Arts Wreath

I die cut a panel using a Kaisercraft die.  I stamped the layering wreath using a variety of inks - Hero Arts and Altenew and then added some red embossed dots and a few gold embossed stars.   I gold embossed the bow and die cut it.  The sentiment was stamped with red ink and clear embossed.   I'm very thankful for the help from MISTI.  It really makes layering stamps easy.   I then used some stamps from Hero Arts DC 187 Peace Stamp & Cut set to stamp the little bird (fussy cut) and the remainder of the sentiment.

And of course as our challenge this month is "Tags"  I couldn't resist to use the Wreath set to make a couple of tags
Wreath Tags

One was stamped directly as a one layer tag and the second on used a die cut wreath, bow and berries.  Die cut using a CAS-ual Fridays die.  (Hero Arts have some lovely tag dies as well HERE)

Upheavel and chaos

that's our place today.... our son is moving home... just him as he and his girlfriend have called it quits..... so my half of the garage (where my car usually lives) is full of furniture.... I'm sad for him but as long as he is happy all I can do is be there for him.... I will enjoy having him home again for a while.  His intention is to start looking for a flat after the Christmas break and holidays.

Had a very successful sale at the School Gala last evening.  Sold about 2/3's of the cards I took and the school benefited from over $120.  I sold cheaply as I really had too many on hand.  I got there around 1.45 to set up and helped the other stalls get set up too.... The usual suspects.... White Elephant, Books, Home and Garden and the Used clothing.  I was supposed to be outside next to the books, but it was very windy and all my cards kept flying away, so had to move inside next to the raffles and across from the Cake stall.  Managed a quick look around before it started at 4.30~ then it was all go... hundreds and hundreds of people everywhere.  Last year the Gala netted over $30,000.  There is always lots of lovely food for sale too.... I had a hot ham sandwich - totally scrummy  and the bonus was at the end of the night, hubby bought the half a ham leftover for $20.

Have been working on some special stuff....something to do with a special blog and a special post.... you'll have to wait till the 24th to see what!!!!!!!!  so today's share is a little tag I made last Saturday and a mini card I made for Penny Black Saturday challenge.

Santa Tag

My tag has some Hero Arts stamps and some Inkadinkado stamps and lots of distress inks and some Shimmer Spritz.

Presents

My mini card is only 4 1/4 x 2 7/8 inches although it looks bigger here... The presents are by Penny Black, PP by My Mind's Eye and sentiment by Hero Arts.  Isn't great when stamps from many companies work well together.  The challenge was "Presents and Gold"

And this week I was thrilled to find that my Thanks card made Spotlight Artist over at City Crafter challenge blog.  Nice to get the recognition.

Off now to get the son's bed made for him and get myself ready to head out to some friend's place for dinner.  I did some handmade chocolates.... using a mixture of dark and milk chocolate buttons and cranberries.  Hopefully a nice combo.   I have a few moulds I use to make them.

Hope your weekend is going well.

Cheers

A fabulous day in Paradise....

Yesterday was a stunning day... after a couple of days of wet weather, yesterday dawned warm and sunny.  I spend part of the morning pottering here on the 'net, catching up on blogs, checking out some new videos on Copic colouring, and generally relaxing.  Then I popped over to my friend Susan's place for lunch.  Sue ( aka Srcumplescrunch) got a new toy for Christmas... a Cricut, so I had to go see.  She was in the middle of making a "Leftover Tag" for Lousie's challenge ( here) and so I watched her creating.... she took some part circles for the base... bits that didn't turn out right in her practise with the Cricut, added some iridescence medium to the image, inked up the words... and this is how it turned out.
Isn't it wonderful.  Go visit her blog  here and have a look around.

Once I left Sue's place, I went to physio.  I have an ongoing issue with a degenerative disc in my lower back that is not progressing as well as I hoped and I am undergoing weekly physio which I hope will help.   When I got back to the car I noticed my temperature guide was saying the outside temp was 28 degrees C.... very very warm, so home and into the swim suit and a 1/2 km walk to spend some time lying, reading, at the beach.  Just magic.  Finally made it back home at 1/4 to 6 to think about something for dinner.
No cards were made yesterday, but got some lovely distress backgrounds made, stamped a couple of images at Sue's so plenty of inspiration.

this morning I came across this wonderful post on my friend, Nancy's blog... Top Lists for 2010.  Great reading.

Wishing everyone a very happy New Year.

last minute tags, new stamps and a winner....

I decided to make a couple of special last minute tags for some gift baskets I purchased yesterday and thought I'd enter them into Louise's latest challenge... to use gold or silver on your tags.
Last minute tag

this is the first one ~  the second is very similar... a bit different distress round the edge and a different flower.  The vintage image was a freebie on Joy's (aka dustypenny) blog.  I resized it in word and printed on 140gm cream printer paper.  I added glossy accents to the birds and the holly berries and some glitter glue in gold round it.

Now for the new stamps.... my parcel from Simon Says Stamp arrived this morning... I got three new stamps... the Cling Bicycles, Small striped flower and Classic Fabric design.  Plus the wonderful staff at Simon Says Stamp added a set of blue rhinestones as a little gift.  How sweet.  Can't wait till I can play.... maybe next week.... too busy today.

And yesterday I was stoked to find out I made the Fab 4 at the Play Date Cafe challenge ~ a touch of Yellow with this card.  Quite excited.

Well that's it for me for a few days.... I just realised I forgot the avocado when I went out shopping the morning... so need to see if I can get one now.....:-(  at least the fruit and veg shop is only a kilometre away.

Caardvarks Christmas Tags in August!!!

Caardvarks challenge is Christmas minis or tags... so I thought I'd do a set to make a start for Christmas.  Once the holiday is over in Sept there is only 2 months to our daughter's wedding.... so need to be organised this year with Christmas!!!!
I decided I like the little singing mice on the card I had made the other day so decided to mask off two of them and just stamp one.
I coloured him with the Pearlescent paints and some Copics, added a few musical notes and stamped the Just for You sentiment from a Hero Arts Sparkle Clear set.  The background scallop is die cut from some paper that has lots of presents on it.   I made 3 of these and 3 with a Penny Black Hedgehog

Once again I used Pearlescent paints and Copics to colour.  These are really cute stamps and the Pearlescent paints really give it a nice sparkle.

This shows the two tags together.  I did the scarf and mittens in different colours on all the tags.

I was also making a card last night to enter into Wee Memories challene ( Butterflies)  Had made some awesome background paper with distress inks, pearlised water and some water resist.  Had it all looking nice and decided to stamp and emboss the sentiment straight onto the background.... and what happen?  the silly stamp blurred and when I embossed the white .... it was like a double image.... Boy was I mad at myself... ruined the whole background...wasn't able to salvage any of it,.... Peeved off to the max.  Of course when I try to recreate the background it didn't look nearly as nice~~ Still working on it tonight.

Thanks for stopping by....
This time 8.25pm next Wednesday we will be in the air.... yeah!!!!
