Daisies in a Teacup - May CCC

Hi there.  This is the card I made to send to Jo in England as part of the May CCC... Jo has now recieved it so I can share.   I haven't taken part in CCC for a while so it was fun to get a card away.

You can check out what our challenge options were here

I chose the colour option and the tea and Friendship themes.

The day before I made this card my Altenew order arrived and in it was Paint-a-flower Chamomile set.  It had this gorgous bouquet in a tea cup.  I had hoped that the stamp set would arrive in time for me to use it for my CCC card.   I masked off some white card and did some blue ink blending.  I then trimmed it with a Gina K die.  I die cut Altenew fine frames die from gold card and kept all the frames together to add to the card.  The tea cup bouquet was stamped and coloured with pencils before fussy cutting it.  Added the little sentiment for my friendship option. The card base looks black, but is actually a very dark blue.   I really like daisies and the Chamomile flowers are very daisy-like.  I'm adding this to the Flower Challenge - your favourite flower

For once, mail was very quick.  Just on a week from New Zealand to England.  I have posted today rather than wait for the full reveal as I will be way too busy to take the time to post later.  One week till the Aussie crew arrive.  Excitment is building in the house.

Have an awesome weekend everyone.

September's CCC Reveal

After missing August's CCC I joined the fun for September.   My card was sent to Hilary in the UK.

As I was a little pushed for time, I chose to use the theme: Friendship

I stamped the flower wreath by Spectrum Noir and used Altenew paints to colour the flowers.  The sentiment is from a Kaisercraft set.  It seemed to fit perfectly in the circle of flowers.   I matted it with some lavender lacy patterned paper.    It made it's way to Hilary very quickly - less than a week.

It's always fun to get a card from somewhere in the world... my card arrived from Linda in Michigan

I have signed up for October's CCC and am getting really to make my card to send away.

Thanks for visiting me today.

July CCC reveal

It the time for the reveal over at Card Chain Challenge.  It such a fun challenge.
I got to send a card to Dee.  Dee lives in Kenya, but was in England visiting her sister, so I sent my card off to her there.

I used my new Tim Holtz Mixed Media die and backed it with some purple card.  I used some dusty pink glitter card to die cut a butterfly.  Added some yellow/gold spray splatters.   My sentiment is from Kaisercraft.

There were so many beautiful cards that were shared this month.  Do go have a look and join us for the August challenge.

I'm Home......

Hi there all.  I'm home again after an awesome week with my daughter and her fiancé over in Perth.  I thoroughly enjoyed my week there.  The first 5 days the weather was perfect... sunny and reasonably warm, then 2 days of rain and cold weather.  We did lots... tourist stuff, shopping and eating. Here are a few pics of my week away.

I also had the pleasure of going out to Fremantle and meeting up with one of my Facebook friends ~ Gayatri.

Not the greatest of pics of the two of us.   I'm not great at taking selfies!  I had a lovely time with Gayatri, sharing a fabulous meal she made and got to see some of her beautiful cards and her cute crafting space.  We talked about all sorts of things like we knew each other for ages.  She also gave me a few goodies to bring home... thanks so much.

Back to work tomorrow... then the weekend.  I did manage to get some new stamps while I was away, so looking forward to getting some time to play.  I also bought a few new clothes and shoes... a new winter wardrobe!

July's CCC...

It's that time of the month again.... I've received some wonderful cards from Betty ... and the cards I sent to Barb have arrived....

These were what Betty sent to me....  aren't they just lovely.  In the package she sent them in were also included a pile of lovely old book pages, some of the die cut leaves ( like on her birthday card), some lovely old sewing pattern tissue, a sheet of the film for masking... such a lot of lovely goodies... most appreciated Betty.

Now I had to send a card to Barb - ( who by the way sent me a card in June's challenge)
I really didn't know what to do.... the sketch stumped me so I went with the theme... but couldn't choose which one.... so yes I did two ....

The first one is the Friendship theme.... I made the background purple in Alcohol inks and then embossed the Poppies in white over the top.
For the beach theme, I used Joy's technique with the distress inks, water and stamping with it.  I used Tea Dye and Wild Honey inks to make the strip and then did some masking to put all the shells together.

All in all, I really enjoy these monthly challenges... head over to Deborah's blog around the last Friday of the month and join in.... so much fun.

Off to do some blog surfing..... and to get some inspiration!!!

Take care and thanks for stopping by...
