Penny Black ATC swap

I just love making ATC's, especially if my Mojo is on a go slow.... it really is cool just to do such little treasures... so when I saw that Felicia had posted a swap over at Penny Circle I joined up.  I got paired with Felicia and we decided to do a 4 ATC swap... not particular theme ~ just whatever took our fancy.  So I pulled out some of my Penny Black stamps and a stickeroo or two... and came up with these 4 little goodies.... all very different!!!
Live Love Laugh ATC

this one used A PB kitty stamp and I did some distressing.  Used Copic to colour.

Stickaroo ATC

this one used a Stickeroo... just had to trim the bottom off.  The sentiment is a Kaisercraft one.

Dream ATC

this one uses one of my favourite Penny Black flowers.... Gossamer Flower.  I coloured it with some glimmer paints and used a gold calligraphy pen to make the frame.

And finally
Flower ATC
My favourite of the lot.... For this I used Pearl Ex powders.  I stamped the flower in Versamark and brushed on the powders.  Stamped the PB sentiment with Colourbox Frost White and then set the lot with Hairspray.  I used a dry square paint brush to swipe white ink onto the edges.

Felicia let me know they had arrived safely in Singapore.
Penny Black ATC Swap

Are you having a good weekend?  I am TIRED... we went out to dinner last night with friends.... a great meal with brilliant company and then called in to Hubby's nephew's 21st party.... and got home at 2.00am this morning!   Getting too old for this caper!  Certainly will be retiring early tonight that's for sure.

Cheers

White on white... plus a coloured image

Over at Simon Says Stamp challenge blog the challenge is ALL WHITE plus a coloured image.  I saw some awesome samples from the design team... they all used Magnolia stamps.  I only have one Magnolia stamp ( at least until my Simon Says order arrives!) so decided to go with something else.  Maybe will come back to her later....

Anyway, I like the way a number of the DT used embossing folders to give the white some texture.
White and Blue

I used a Provocraft folder called Diamonds in the Rough to emboss the white background.  I added a doily ( bought a whole heap yesterday- so look out for a few more)  The butterfly was sitting in a container on my desk and I added some colour with a Copic and some distress ink and stickles.

No stamp group for me today as I have LOTS of housework to do... ( currently waiting for the floors to dry) I want to have the house clean so I can head off for surgery knowing all is good. I've been giving hubby instructions on what needs doing.... and been teaching him to do the on-line banking.... usually my job, but in case anything untoward happens, he needs to know how to access the money!!!!

Better get back to it... a pile of ironing to do before heading out for dinner with friends tonight.

Enjoy the weekend...

Tiffany Doodles and SSC.... week 2

Over at Simply Scrapping Crafts this month, Tiffany Doodles are the sponsor.  If you have never visited Tiffany Doodles.... you should!  There are some amazing images available for sale and every Thursday there is a freebie available.

This week's challenge was to use a Digital Image or sentiment.  I used Tiffany Doodle's Dancing Dress image.
Dare to Dream ~ SSC and Tiffany Doodles Week 2

I printed out the image onto white card and then three different patterned paper and cut and put back together..... I wanted to put some scalloped round the edge but none of my dies fitted so I punched out a whole lot hearts and pasted them around the panel.  Turned out okay. I trimmed some pink pearlescent paper for the base and used an Inkadinkadoo flourish in white ink on the corners.  I stamped the sentiment by Kaisercraft in the corner.  Added a flower gem and a pink bow.

Pop over to the SSC blog and see what Dani did as well.... just amazing... and join us with your hybrid card or project.  We would love to see what you create.

I've haven't had much chance to blog these last two nights.... last  night I went to the movies with a girlfriend... saw Bridesmaids... very funny movie.... and tonight we went out to dinner with our son and his girlfriend.  Hadn't seen them for a couple of weeks, so was good to catch up.  So now a little time to blog hop before heading of for an early night.

Cheers

I did a Demo.........

On Saturday I did a demo for the ladies I stamp with, using Pearl Ex Powders.  I showed them an ATC I had done that used this technique, so they demanded I do a demo for them showing how I did it....
So I did.... I borrowed a stamp of Helen's.  A Stampin' Up one.  Perfect for the technique
PearlEx demo

I stamped with Versamark onto black card stock, then taking a soft brush and the Pearl Ex powders I dusted the colours onto the stamped image.  I used some plain colours and some Interference colours.  The Interference colours shimmer and change colours.  Once I had finished I sprayed the piece with Hairspray to set the Pearl Ex.  If you use Perfect Pearls you don't need to set the powders.  I finished the card with a Hero Arts sentiment and some lovely green Seam binding ribbon.

Everyone enjoyed my demo and all were keen to have a go.   This is a technique I don't use enough.  It really makes a pretty card.

All went well at my pre-op today.  My surgeon fully explained what he was going to do.  I need to be at the hospital at 10.30 next Thursday.   The surgery is around 2 1/2 to 3 hours depending on whether he can do it through the side or if he needs to cut into the back.  I'm hoping the side way will be possible as it is less invasive and makes for quicker healing as less muscle is damaged.

Thanks to you all for your lovely comments, I really appreciate them.

Some Pretty Girls

More cards from Saturday. These two use some pretty girls... the first one uses a digital image that I found here at Paper Shelter.

Little Lady

I sized the image quite small and printed it out.  I borrowed an oval die by Nellie ( here) from Betty and cut it out.  I used a combination of Copics and Tombow markers to colour the image in.  The background is the second one I did ( the first was the one that got smudged).  I used my new Colourbox white ink.  Works really well but takes an age to dry.  I used two Hero Arts stamps to make the background... Flourish background and Old French Writing.   I used a spellbinders die to make the tag.  Sentiment from Stampendous

My second girl card uses  a Magnolia Tilda stamp.
Tilda

I started with some PP and then used another Nellie die (here) I used two of the die's together to make the frame.  I stamped Tilda and coloured with Copics and paper pieced the dress.  I am not good at colouring dresses with suitable shading...so paper piecing is good.  I added some lace and the felt flower.  Not at all sure I like this card... I think the background is too busy.

I've got my pre-op assessment tomorrow... blood tests, paper work etc.  Plus the time to ask any questions I have... just a few.... Getting a bit nervous.

That's me for tonight...

Saturday Stamping

Yesterday I meet with some friends to spend the day stamping.  There were 8 of us... ranging in age from around 10 years to over 70..... Great fun...........  I struggled a bit...  I had printed out a digi image and was paper piecing it and the glue went everywhere so I messed it up... then I stamped some white ink on a black card and although I heat set it, as I picked it up, I smudged it....

Anyway, I did mange to get a few cards completed.   And got some bits half done...

Here is the first card I got done...
Rose Sympathy

Another with Hero Arts Rose.   This is a very CAS card.  I used Fired Brick distress ink to colour the image.  I used a Martha Stewart edge punch to punch the edge.  Hero Arts Sentiment finished it off beautifully.

Here are some photos from the day
I will share more cards later in the week.  I'm doing an ATC swap so will be working on my ATC's this week.

Hope your weekend was a great as mine.

Purple Haze

This month's challenge over at Jay Gee's Nook this month is certainly dear to my heart.... Look at this inspirational montage from Pinterest
Isn't this just the most amazing colour....  I ADORE Puprle.... it's my favourite colour... so much so my new glasses frames are purple!
So of course out came the Rose stamp again.  My previous purple roses card was made just one day too early for the challenge... so had to do another one.
Purple Haze
I recently bought some Hero Arts water colour paper.... what amazing paper.  I wet it thoroughly and added some watercolour paints in purple, red and gold.  Once this dried, I stamped the Frame stamp in Dusty Concord distress ink and the rose in black ink.  I used distress inks to colour I ( my favouritest  way to colour).  I stamped again onto a lighter weight of watercolour paper and colour and cut a rose and bud.  The sentiment is from a Kaisercraft set I got today.  I lightly sponged a white piece of card stock with Milled Lavender and then stamped in Dusty Concord with a Crackle stamp and edged the piece with the darker ink.

Hope the week is going well for you... It seems to be flying by for me...  on the countdown to my back surgery... 16 days to go...

Cheers
