Christmas Crazy Bird

Hi there.  I really wanted to take part in Jo's Christmas Kickstart Challenge.

As you can see the challenge is Christmas Birds.  I wanted to try something a bit crazy............ using Tim Holtz Crazy Birds

 I don't have the accessories stamps but my friend Suna does, so I got her to stamp the hat and send me it to me. I coloured and  add to the bird.  I used the pine branches and sentiment from Sunny Studios Holiday Style stamps,  I stamped the TH Bird and coloured him with Copics.  I had added some Kindyglitz to the hat and added it to the bird.  I added just a few flat gold sequins and some dark red sequins to the tree.

It's been a busy week. Still working from home - will be working from home again next week then it's back to three days in the office and two at home.    And very excited that on Thursday our new kitchen installation started.  The installer was here today as well and is back on Monday to finish the first part.  Then Tues the bench people come to make the template for the bench-top.  That should take about  days,  Once that's in, the kitchen installer is back to to the overbench pantry and the rangehood cupboard

Here are all the bits starting to go in and below is the detailing on our drawers.

 No handles - just recessed with a wood melamine trim.

It's been a Tim weekend!

Yes I spend the weekend with Tim.... Tim Holtz stamps that is!  For some reason my cards over the past few days have all had Tim's stamps on them....

Firstly here is a Butterfly I painted last weekend and made up into card on Friday evening.

I was inspired by the blue brick background that I saw Kathy Racoosin do on one of her cards.  I used Zig Markers to colour the butterfly.  The sentiment from the same set as the butterfly and I embossed it in silver EP.

Next up is another image I watercoloured last weekend.

This is from the Tim Holtz Stamptember with Simon Says.  I started by using my Zig Markers to make a wash on the background.  Then stamped the image and then added some more intense markers on a few spots and some Glossy accents on a few parts as well.   This one was for hubby on his birthday on Friday.

And my last trio of cards uses Tim Holtz Crazy birds.... two for my twin great nephews who turn 9 on the 28th

The banner stamp is a new border stamp from Crea8tiv that I picked up at K-Mart the other day.  Stencil from MFT.  Winnie & Walter sentiment stamped in a Penny Black die cut speech bubble.

What's the word, bird?

Our flight does not leave till 11.50pm tonight, and I'm all packed,

 

Yes, that's all I'm taking for 3 weeks!  I've been really frugal on what I've packed... and it's been a raining afternoon, so what better thing to do than to do some colouring....

 First up, a scrapling with PP and a card piece sitting on my desk.  The Tim Holtz bird was coloured with Mermaid Lagoon and Abandon Coral distress inks and fussy cut.  The sentiment comes from a Hero Arts set.  I stamped it, and then cut the sentiment up to fit on my mini card.  Inside it says "Happy Birthday, you old bird!"

 

Next up some Copic colouring, cut out with a Spellbinders oval. Sentiment from Rubbadubbadoo.  PP is from Kaisercraft.  Used a sketch I saw on Pinterest. 

and finally

The bird is coloured with Copics and fussy cut.  The sentiment is from a Dana Wakely set.  Once I stamped it, I used my Scor Pal to emboss lines down the card (hard to see in the photo) to give a bit of texture.  Finished with some green washi to ground my bird and a couple of punched notes.  

Off to change now... hard to dress in warm weather clothes (first stop Singapore) when it's wet and cooler here.
