Hero Arts butterfly.

I've been playing with some pretty soft colours for my day over at A2Z Scrapbooking

I used water colours to make a the card from which I die cut the Hero Arts Butterfly Fancy dies DI078.  I used pinks, purples and blues in lighter tones.   For the background, I used a Hero Arts Stencil (SA026 BG Leaf and Flourish- currently out of stock but you can custom order on the A2Z site )  with some pale inks.  I used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment from Hero Arts Hello Stamp & Cut DC151 with Versafine Onyx black ink, a couple of times to get a nice dark sentiment.

Happy Anniversary

Last Saturday was our 39th wedding anniversary... my doesn't time fly!  I got Pinterest inspired to make Hubby his card

I added some washi tapes to a card stock and die cut both from that piece and the card front so I could inlay the heart.  I was really pleased I got to use the LOVE tape.  I had picked it up at Ikea for a $1.00 last year.  I used a free die cut filigree bow and a strip of black card to look like ribbon.   The sentiment is one from an older Hero Arts set.

Short and sweet today as I should be doing the packing for our long weekend away.  We are going to our friend's place at Managwahi, taking our son and his partner with us.  Should be a fun weekend.  I'm going to spend some time getting to know my new iPhone 7  (shouted myself the latest model for a change!)

Have a great weekend one and all, and thanks for visiting.

I'm Back... with some Wedding Cards

Doing a Happy Dance here as I now have Internet and a Landline again!  Nothing ever easy for me... Got a 4G modem and for some reason it would not connect to the cell tower.... after about 20 mins with the Techie, she suggest I check the SIM card... and yes... it was not in fully!  So finally back online

While I was unable to visit all my bloggy friends, I got to continue decluttering and sorting out my craft room.  Still not fully in there yet, but the new desk is in and I've sorted out the stamps into drawers.  I also got some time to create.  We are going to a wedding on the 11th February so a card was needed.

It's hard to see but the white background panel is embossed.  I then stamped the couple from a Penny Black set and coloured with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  I fussy cut out the couple and added to the card.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set.   Inside I used a Inkadinkado sentiment that says "getting married means sharing your toys"

Next I was asked to doing a wedding card for a friend who was going to a wedding soon as well.

I did a couple to give her some choice.

This one was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.  I die cut a two heart dies from Spellbinders, one plain and one scalloped.  I embossed the plain one and layered the two together.  Is used a base made with some Simon Says Stamp wood grain card.  I stamped the Winnie & Walter sentiment, curving it around the top of the heart.   The flower and leaves are from the same Winnie & Walter set and I embossed them onto some vellum.  I used my Zig markers to colour the back.  A few sequins and all done.  My friend really loved it and took it...

And here is the second card I made.  I was very lucky to have received the Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine that had an Altenew stamp and die set, sent to me by my friend Kim, all the way from Perth Australia.

this stamp set is gorgeous and I had fun stamping and die cutting.  I used Memento Inks.  The sentiment is from Kaisercraft and the PP is from a pack by Teresa Collins.

And because I had the PP pack and the stamps and dies out, I made another inspiration card

This one is a 4.75" x 6.75" card as the PP is a 4.5 x 6.5 pack.  The sentiment from Kaisercraft  seemed to fit perfectly.  My friend decided she wanted this one too, so two cards sold!

thank you if you are still with me.  I have a few more cards to share over the next little while - a few DT cards coming up and some fun cards I've done for the StampNation birthday challenges.  It's good to be back online

missing in action

Just a quick note to let you know why I haven't been around much.   my home phone and Internet have been down since Thursday 12th.   a long messy saga with trying to change providers  and after a 7 mth mucking tried to cancel the change over and lost connection completely.   still working on a solution.   so only when I can access free data can I visit.  so far I've  used half my monthly mobile data within three days!

Hoping to be back online soon

Dino Girl...

This month's challenge theme at Die Cut Divas is Sentiment Free, and our sponsor is Sasayaki Glitter Digital Stamps.

I'm here to share my card with you today.
I have used  Dino Girl for my card.  As I am in love with my Prisma pencils I have once again used them

I used Spellbinders Rectangle dies - plain and scalloped for the image.  Added some PP and a mat and then added to my card base.  Such a fun image.

Summer is slow to come to us this year... none of the usual hot sunny summery days... lots of wind and even a bit of rain.   Hoping that it will warm up soon.

Thanks for stopping by.  I really appreciate all your visits

Stitching -Real or Faux ... a challenge at Southern Girls

I was pleasantly surprised to get an email last month from Louise who runs Southern Girls Challenge blog...asking me if I would like to do another term with them. I'd previously been a DT member.  I had no hesitation in saying YES

I design for Southern Girls Challenge

So here I am a member of Tracy's team and it's time for our first challenge of  2017.  To use stitching - real or faux.  Ours sponsor for this challenge are:

I got to use an image from Sasayaki Glitter.

this one is called "Spotty and Pup"  Of course I am still enamored with my Prismacolour pencils and wanted to try out some blending.  I used pinks and purples to blend together to colour the unicorn.  I used some Odorless Mineral Spirits and a paper stub to blend.  Added some sparkle gel pen on the star and wings.  I used a stitched oval -my first faux stitching.   My second lot of faux stitching  is on my background.  I used a technique I saw on Kathy Racoosin's blog The Daily Marker.  You use distress inks.  I smooshed  a red and purple ink and watered it down a lot and then used a flat paint brush to make lines.  I used the side of the brush and some more concentrated red ink to make the thin stripe.  I then used a white gel pen to make my stitch lines.   I matted this panel onto some lilac cardstock and then onto my white card base.

Do come and join us at Southern Girls Challenge

Thanks for stopping by

Hennah Elements Birthday

I really like the design I did the other day with my red flowers so used the design again today - some more practice with my pencils.   This time my colour scheme was purple based

I used an Altenew set called Hennah Elements.  It's got some lovely open flowers perfect for colouring.  I can't stop using my Prismacolour pencils at the moment.  This one used several shades of purples and greens.   Once coloured I fussy cut close to the lines.  The largest one is popped up with some foam tape.  I used a sentiment from Sugar Pea Designs (for SOA by Catherine Pooler)  The card is a prefolded pearlised one, so clear embossed the sentiment (first time round did not and smudged it! 😞😞  Luckily was able to save the flowers and re-do the sentiment!  The die cut was coloured with Wilted Violet distress ink.  I'll have to borrow my friends die and cut some more white ones.

I have decided that seeing as how I used my new pencils, that qualifies it for the "Something New" challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
And I'm also entering the Anything Goes at Craft Stamper challenge.  and Anything Goes at Crafting when we can.

I can't wait to try more colouring.  I'm going to take an online class to help improve.

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your weekend.

Anything Goes at A2Z Scrapbboking

anything-goes
January 2017 and an new challenge at A2Zscrapbooking.... plus it's also time to start thinking of those Valentine's card as well.... today I have one to share that is made with a digital flower and sentiment.

thumb nail Sendong Love

I used some Patterned Paper from a Grace Taylor pad to cover my card base.  I then printed the Pretty Blossoms Printable Digital Kit PT002 at 50% onto white card and coloured with Prismacolor Pencils and added some white gel pen dots.   I then printed the sentiment from Say it in Pieces DK030 set, before using an older Hero Arts die cut label to cut out a tag.   Added some metallic thread behind the flower.  How easy is that!  A2Z Scrapbooking has lots of Hero Arts Digital kits (see them all HERE)   Awesome for using on your projects.

Here's a close up of the flower

Using Lace

Today I am sharing the card I made for my NZ technique month challenge.  Janet chose to the theme for the month of January and it was to use LACE on your card.... it could be actual lace or a lacy cut or a lace stamp etc.  My recipient this month is my friend Suna... we both work in the same office.. me on level 8 and Suna on level 7 of our building.

I chose to use two Lace stamps from Hero Arts (no longer available) on my card.

I started by stamping the Lace background stamp onto some cream card with Altenew grey ink.  I overstamped the skirt from the Prima Julie Nutting "Kate", added some shading and cut it out.  I stamped the whole Doll onto white card and coloured with Copics and then fussy cut both the doll and the skirt.  Pieced the two together.   I used a DL sized card after matting the panel onto some yellow card I added the second lace stamp in each corner. I splattered some of the darker coffee coloured ink and used the darkest of the coffee/brown inks to stamped the sentiment.

I also stamped the smaller lace stamp onto a DL envelope

I was very pleased with card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Beautfiul day

I have made my first card for 2017 - using Altenew Adore You stamps together with a sentiment from the Beautiful Day set

I had coloured the flowers while we were away over New Year.   I used my new Prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut the flowers.  The die cut frame is by LeCrea Designs.  I cut a few from a friends die.  I'm really pleased with this one.   And so was my friend, Yvonne... she has asked to buy it for a 40th ruby wedding anniversary card.

Well Christmas break is over, the tree is down and ornaments stored away.  It's back to work for me and hubby in the morning.... how I'm going to get up at 6.30am when I've been sleeping till after 8.00am each day is going to be hard work.    Early night planned.
