Hero Art Cocktail Congrats

Today is the last day of February so it's the final day as Hero Arts as a Sponsor for Die Cut Divas.  Some of the team are sharing their cards.

I have a Congrats card  made using two Hero Arts Stamp and Die sets.

I started by die cutting a tag (Pretty Pink Posh) and then cutting out the champagne glass.  I cut the top off and coloured the bottom and inlaid.  The rest of the glass was made a shaker with some clear sequins.  I used a embossing folder to add some interest to the base card.   I used some red glimmer card to die cut the congrats.

There have been some incredible entries this month... Thanks to everyone who has played along.  Hope  you have had fun.

Birthday cards for some little people...

My friend asked me to make her some cards for her grandchildren.  The twins, Odin and Sophie, are turning 5 on  the 28th and are having a Pirate and Fairy party so she asked that the cards be one of each!  Plus her son's god-daughter turns 5 as well, so she wanted a "girly" card.

I made that one first...

I found some PP in my drawer that already had the lovely cup cake on it so that was my starting point.  I then chose a really old Hero Arts set that had this little cutie on it.  I stamped and coloured her and then fussy cut.  I cut down the panel and mounted it on some pinky/purple card.  I used the same colour to die cut the Kaisercraft number die.  Added some Crackle Accent for dimension.

Next one was for Odin.  I had a Mo Manning Captain Hugh which I thought would be perfect

I used Copics to colour then fussy cut.  I found the treasure map on Google and printed it onto some lined kraft paper.  The sentiment is one from Hero Arts .

And for my Fairy card for Sophie, I used one of The Greeting Farm fairies.

Some more Copic colouring and fussy cutting together with some more PP.  I added Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the wings and the cupcakes plus Glossy Accents to the hearts.

I'm now trying to get ahead with some of my DT work as I'm away from the 8th to the 13th March.  I'm catching up with my family in Australia.  We are having a bit of a reunion on the Sunshine Coast.  Daughter, Son-in-law and wee Archie are coming across from Perth, my parents are traveling up from the Gold Coast and my son and his girlfriend are traveling with Hubby and I .  So looking forward to catching up.  Archie is now 10 months so it's been 6 months since I've seen him.  He'll have grown soooo much.  We get almost daily photos and videos of him, but to cuddle him for real is going to be so special.  Can't wait!!!!

Have an awesome weekend all

MFT Sketch Challenge... Sending Birthday Wishes

I get the MFT blog posts via my e-mail feed and today the latest sketch called to me.  I need a card for one of my stamp group ladies who has her birthday 1 March.

My winnings from Altenew arrived this week and I had stamped, coloured and die cut a Daffodil from Wishing You set.

I had stamped the daffodil in Altenew Ink - Industrial Diamond.  Not as harsh as black ink.  I then used Copic markers to colour the image.  I die cut the flower and then I had put it aside as I had orders for 4 cards last night.  So this evening I saw the MFT sketch and knew that it would be perfect to use the Daffodil with.  I used some light yellow card to die cut a circle frame and the small scalloped piece.  The green PP was sitting on my desk and again seemed to fit perfectly,   Added the sentiment from the Wishing You set as well.  Finished with a few sequins.

I'm entering this into the Sketch challenge at MFT Card Challenge and the Anything Goes at Simon Says Stamp

Hero Arts Orchid Birthday

It's my turn to share at A2Z Scrapbooking today and I've made a red and pink birthday card.  I used the same design as I used last week,

Orchid Birthday

I have used Hero Arts CL946 Color Layering Orchid in a Pot, stamping with a variety of pinky/red inks.  The leaves are stamped with three tones of green inks.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts CL738 Messages with Flourish (no longer available)  Finished it off with some sequins.

Text background

Last night I was commenting on the fabulous creations on the Hero Arts Flickr scramble and saw this card from Lin

https://flic.kr/p/S3Jjan | quickcard148 | I have been wanting to play with this Leaf and Floral Background stamp again, and LaVon's challenge was perfectly timed! Using a technique that Cindy first used. I stamped it using shaded lilac distress ink, then turned the stamp 180 degrees and stamped it a 2nd time using blueprint sketch distress ink. The panel was trimmed down, inked along the edges, and attached to a white card base. My happy die-cut was then sponged with both inks in an omb...:

Isn't it gorgeous.  I loved how she double stamped the floral stamp.   I decided that I was going to CASE this card.

I used Catherine Pooler inks - Aquatini and Something Borrowed to make my panel. I used two layers of fun foam to layer it for dimension,  I stamped the Text stamp in the Something Borrowed.  My die cut is from CAS-ual Fridays and I covered it with glossy accents.    I didn't get it photographed in time for the scramble.  Thanks Lin for the inspiration

Another Altenew Inspired card and Hero Arts Scramble...

I have seen my bloggy friend Virginia use Alcohol inks with her stamps and I decided that I would use some Altenew stamps with the inks to make another card for the Inspiration challenge for Februray

I used Beautiful Day stamp set and black embossed the glossy card and the used Alcohol inks on the images.  I then die cut the flowers and leaves.  My patterned paper is from Kaisercraft.    This was such a fun card to make and so quick to make.

This morning I also hit the craft room to join the Hero Arts 90 min scramble.  It was a 24hr one, so you just crafted at any time within the 24 hrs and make and photo your card within 90 mins.  I took 1 hour 20mins to make this one.  Our theme was to make a background.

A very busy background.  I used a HA stamp called Flower Medley.  It reminded me of the colouring book pages that are popular at the moment.  I used Zig Markers and water to colour them flowers.  As it was sooo busy, I chose to use vellum to add a sentiment.     I had fun doing this one too.

It has been a very hot day, so my stints in the craft room cooled me down as my room is on the cooler side of the house.

Pink and gold for Altenew February inspiration

I LOVE my Altenew flowers and this month inspiration photo is simply beautiful.

Who doesn't love pink flowers.  For my card I have used the sketch from February's Card Chain Challenge together with my flowers and leaves

I foiled some double sided tape for a touch of cold.  My flowers are from the Adore You set as is the sentiment.  I used some Zig Real Brush Markers to color my flowers and then fussy cut and added to my card with some foam tape. I left the rest of the card CAS with no other embellishments.

I have entered this into the February challenge at Altenew and the Fantastic Florals at Simon Says Stamp.

Just getting this done quickly prior to lunch.  We are going out this evening into the city for Dinner and then onto the Jimmy Barnes show.  Looking forward to this.

Just a note

I've been home today with a sore throat so after having a sleep in the morning, I decided to get a head of my DT work.   While I had some Hero Arts stamps out, I also grabbed some Catherine Pooler Party inks... Rocking Red, Party Dress, Green Skirt and Lime Rickey and made a card

I started with Party Dress and stamped off the first layer to get my lightest layer.  Next layer was full Party Dress and then Rocking Red for the final layer.    I used some Lime Ricky for the first layer of leaves and Grass Skirt for the second layer.  I added the sentiment in Rocking Red and the little heart outlines.  I used the ink to watercolour inside the hearts.  To get the green matching the leaves, I did direct to paper with the Lime Rickey and added a small piece to each side.

Love you

On the 5th February NZ time, Betty had a Hero Arts 24hr Scramble going on.  I managed to squeeze in some time to play... 45 minutes to be exact.

Betty's theme was to create a card with the colors GOLD AND BLACK and the theme of LOVE.

Here's what I came up with

Used an older cling background embossed with Platinum powder - gives an old gold look.  Die cut heart was also embossed with the same powder onto some white card.  The embossing has interesting texture as the black card is a textured one.

It was a fun scramble and there were some lovely entries.

And I'll leave you with a Photo of hubby and I at the wedding

Be Happy Butterfly

Hi there.   It's my day to share a card over at Die Cut Divas and I am using our Sponsor's product.... and  this month's challenge theme... Using Pink or Red.

We are lucky to have Hero Arts as our sponsor this month.  One of our lucky entrants will win a $25 gift voucher to spend in the Hero Arts store... and how exciting is that.   The wonderful Jennifer McGuire recently did a video showing all the latest release.  SEE HERE.

My card using an older Hero Arts stamp and cut set that has this beautiful butterfly stamp and die

I embossed my white background with an all over butterfly design (very hard to see in my photo)
Here's a better look

I stamped and coloured my butterfly with Copics and die cut him out.  I added a lot of wink of stella glitter and used the excess pink on my brush to add to the centre of the embossed butterflies.
My sentiment comes from the Be Happy stamp set - another of my older Hero Art sets.

I've away from home for the last 4 days - in Mangawhai for the wedding of the daughter of our best friends.. It was stunning.  The day was perfect, the bride looked amazing, the groom very handsome, the venue (our friend's backyard) was perfect and the whole afternoon into the night time was just the best ever.  And then all day Sunday back at the house, eating and drinking with a spot of heading to the beach for a swim or two, and catching up with old friends and new.  Such a fun and exciting time.   I wish Maggie and Kristian all the very best for their future life together.

Pretty in Pink

It's my day for sharing at Southern Girls Challenge today.   Our sponsor is Crafts and Me.

the team got to use images from our sponsor.  I chose to use Annabelle Digital Stamp for my card

Our theme this fortnight is to use 3 or more patterned papers on your project.  I used three different pink patterned papers from a Theresa Collins pack.  I had the papers in mind and the design (thanks to a sketch I had saved into my Pinterest board) and printed the image so I could die cut it.  I coloured with my Prismacolor pencils before using the Spellbinders rectangle die.  I used a gold paint pen to edge around my PP panels and my focal panel.   Finished with a flower and some pink leaves.

Hope you can find the time to join our challenge.

I have entered this into the challenge at

The Card Chain Challenge is still alive and well thanks to Gail and Jo and now even has it's own blog

I had the pleasure of sending a card to Deborah in Indianapolis.

I went the Friendship theme.   I have this set of pre-embossed paper and I had just got the latest Catherine Pooler inks and used them to sponge on the card.  I added the die cut and  sentiment from Winnie & Walter.   A very bright and colourful card.

I've signed up for the February CCC - you should try it out!

Hero Arts and Die Cut Divas - with Love

Die Cut Divas have been lucky enough to get Hero Arts to sponsor us again.  They were the first sponsors we had when we first started this blog challenge in 2015.  You could win a $25 spending spree at Hero Arts

So this month's challenge is about using Red or Pink on your projects.  Valentine's Day is Feb 14th and of course, the Chinese New Year using lots of Red.

My card is a Valentines one..

I started by white embossing the Heart Background CG702.   I then sponged the card with Hero Arts red Chalk Ink.   I white embossed the heart onto black card.  The heart stamp and die are from Hero Arts Stamp & Die set (DC132 Yes Stamp & Cut) My silhouette couple is a die I got from Krafterscart - a NZ online company.  I added some ribbon to finish off.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Do come and join us at Die Cut Divas this month.
