This was my 12th submission.  Mary's guest this week was Nina from Waffle Flower so I used the same Postage Collage Die Nina used,.. just a little bit differently 

Parameters 

Project - For a Co-worker.  This is for a co-worker's upcoming birthday

Colour- Kites in the sky.  Red kites

Element - April, Poppies for ANZAC Day 25th April - It commemorates the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli, Turkey, during World War I. On this day, people wear poppies as a symbol of respect and remembrance for the fallen soldiers.

Random - Sparkles.  Glitter on my ephemera and foiled sentiments

Yesterday I popped out to Spotlight as my heat tool was shorting so needed replacing.  So a new tool, a lovely paper pack and some wooden embellishments found their way into my basket.  And then a quick call into Crackerjack (an all sorts of things shop) to pick up a Little Birdie paper pack and ephemera pack - Poppies and Roses.  

This is actually the second card I made, but I didn't like the first one.  I took a sheet of the poppies paper and die cut with the Waffle Flower die.  I added the ephemera poppies (already glittered) and added some glitter to the wings of the butterfly.   This week I had received my Krafter's card order - which included the latest Waffle Flower Postage Collage stencil - Wild Flowers and Spellbinder's Curved Everday Sentiments hot foil and die set.  I used some silver foil.  It's a great set with a lot of sentiments together so a few in my stash for whenever I need one. 

As it was the first time I used the Spellbinder foil and die set, I'm adding this to Darnell's NBUS challenge

ANZAC Day - Poppy card.

Welcome to my Die Cut Divas post for today - here in NZ and Australia (25th April) is ANZAC Day - where we acknowledge and commemorate all those who served in the army forces.  The ANZAC's were the Australia and New Zealand Army Corp who fought during the First World War and on the 25 April 1915 the ANZAC's landed in Gallipoli in Turkey.  The landing point later became know as Anzac Cove.  

Here in NZ and Australia we wear poppies to commemorate by wearing a poppy.  So today I am sharing a poppy card as part of this month's challenge.

I used Altenew's Paint a Flower - Iceland Poppies.  I coloured with Altenew's Woodless Watercolor Pencils.  A little bit of gold pen to add some details.  I fussy cut the bouquet.  I used Altenew Mix and Match Frames to cut the centre navy panel and the red panel.   I added white splatter (need a bit more practice using Altenew's white spray)  I layered the panels onto a navy base.  Used a sentiment from the set die cut with Featured Sentiment dies.

TIC TAC TOE at Die Cut Divas

 Hi there - it's time to me to share my card for our challenge at Die Cut Divas.   Our sponsor this month is Joy Clair Designs

I chose to use the right hand side - at least 2 layers, colour yellow. flowers

I have 3 layers (not including the base) - my first layer is the yellow matting...on top of this is  a white embossed layer.  I printed the Joy Clair image and used a used a Spellbinder die to cut it out.  For my colour yellow - my little bird and the flower - was the one the bird's mouth.  The heartfelt sentiment is also from the Joy Clair set which is "Refresh the Soul"  I printed it before doing the embossing. 

As you read this, I will have arrived home from my two weeks away in Perth Australia.  I left on the 10th and arrived back very early this morning.  It's ANZAC day here in New Zealand and Austraila, celebrating and remembering those who have fought in World Wars and other arenas where our miltary have served.  

WWC218 - Marsha's "All About Occasions" Challenge

Welcome to today's  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Marsha is our hostess this week with an "All About Occasions" challenge.

 Today I have done an ANZAC Day project.  ANZAC Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served". Observed on 25 April each year, Anzac Day was originally devised to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served in the Gallipoli Campaign, their first engagement in the Great War (1914–1918).

I started with a very light cream card onto which I used my computer to print out the poem.  I then blended some Altenew inks - Sweet Leaf for the sponging and Hunter Green for the splatters.  I used a Hero Arts stamp set called "Color layering Poppies" to stamp the two poppies (using Altenew, Coral Bliss, Heart Beat and Vineyard Berry).  I die cut them with the matching dies.  I then worked out where I wanted them and using the stems and buds directly only to card base.   Then added the die cut poppies.   I popped in the frame I got for $4 at Kmart.  I am very pleased with the results.

Today is ANZAC day- a day of remembrance and thanks to those who gave their lives and served in wars for our freedom. This year is particularly poignant as it commemorates 100 years since the ANZAC (Australia and New Zealand Army Corp) landed at Gallipoli at what is now know as Anzac Cove.   All week there have been commemoration services and this morning there were thousands attending Dawn Services around the country.

This photo is of our local Museum that was lit up.

The poppy is an international symbol of remembrance.  Last Friday was Poppy Day here in NZ and we bought poppies to wear on our lapels.  So today I am sharing this card I made to commemorate the day.

Today is ANZAC Day here in New Zealand and Australia. It is a public holiday that honours the soldiers of the Australian and Zealand Army Corps who fought in Gallipoli in 1915.  My husband got up this morning to go to the Dawn Service.   

I spend the day pottering around in my craft room.   I did a couple of cards for some design work, finished off my ATC's for a swap that I'm involved in.  The theme was was "Text" ~ to use a book page on your ATC.  Here are my three

#1 ~ used some papers from a telephone directory that I tore up and glued onto the card.  I added some white and pink paint and some green distress stain.  My heart was die cut and stamped with some text and painted with some white paint.  The wings are stamped onto some pearlescent paper.  

#2 used some MME PP.  My book page was used for the photo corners and my flower.  I added some iridescence medium to the birds.  Added a flourish.

 #3 totally uses book paper from an old book on Roses.  I tore the page and distressed the edges and rubbed a white acrylic paint across it.   The rose was trimmed from the page and coloured with Gelatos and some pink and gold stickles.   The sentiment

I'll be posting these off in the morning and will be looking forward to receiving three in return. 

I'm also having a day off tomorrow.... I've got an appointment at the Dietician's at the hospital and then one with my own doctor to review my blood glucose levels.  It wasn't worth going back to work for the afternoon, so I'll be enjoying a long weekend.   And I'm going to Sandie's to stamp.  Yes, a good weekend!!!

Today is Anzac Day here in New Zealand and Australia.   It is to honour the soldiers of the Australian and Zealand Army Corps who fought in Gallipoli in 1915.  My husband got up this morning to go to the Dawn Service.

Here is an Ode that is often read at these services.

They shall grow not old,

The Ode comes from ‘For the Fallen’, a poem by the English poet and writer Laurence Binyon

And now a card I made the other day when I saw Martha and Tina's challenge between themselves.   They challenged each other to use the same stamp and patterned paper.   The stamp is a rose from the Two Birds set from Hero Arts.

Used PP (Authenique ~Splendid) and stamped the rose in Rich Cocoa Momento.  Coloured with Copics and then painted with some watered down Iridescent Medium.  Gives it a real shimmer. Added some seam binding and some gems.  Sentiment from Kaisercraft.

Super Saturday and ANZAC day Sunday

Today is ANZAC day here in New Zealand and Australia.  It is the day we remember our ancestors who served and died at Gallipoli in Turkey during the First World War and all the other service men and women who have served in all the other wars.  This morning my hubby was up at 5.30 to go to the Dawn Service at our local cenotaph in Browns Bay.  He goes as his late Father served in World War II.   Me - I stay in bed and think about them.

Yesterday was a SUPER day... in the end there were only 4 of us stamping... but oh what fun.  We had plenty of room to spread out.  Must admit if everyone had made it, it would have been a bit cramped....We started just after 10.15am and finished round 4.30pm.  It was a lovely warm day so had the door to outside open, the sun was shinning in and we got to sit outside under the umbrella for our lunch.  Unfortunately no photos as my camera was playing up... ( blond moment and I didn't check the batteries till this morning!!!!)
I had a great day... finally finished the swap pins for Stamp Camp next weekend, got some more quilted pieces done and a card made with one, as well as an easel card - instructions from Sue.... then later in the evening got two more cards finished.

  The swap pins are a series of 4 stamps that I have done various colour schemes on, using a variety of colouring mediums - water colour pencils, aqua crayons and markers.
My teddy card used paper I had downloaded from Gina K's Peachy Keen collection available for free here. I coloured in the Teddy ( which was one the lovely Anne had sent me before I bought the stamp) with Distress ink - Walnut Stain and some peachy aqua crayon.  Welcome baby is a Stampin'Up stamp.

The easel card is made with a frame ( cut out with a nestie) and folded over the central image  I stamped on some of the left over Peachy Keen paper, with some Stampin'Up Pocket Silhouette stamps in Dusty Concord and Walnut Stain distress inks.  Sentiment also by Stampin'up.

Next was a quick card as I had the background already - I made it the other night when I was using my Impressibilities - used it as a stencil and sponged the Tattered Rose ink over it.  Made a flower ( a la Dawn McVey) with some computer paper inked with the Tattered Rose and cut out with a Dahlia die from Spellbinders and crumpled. Sentiment by Stamp-It ( this one is for SIL whose birthday is next week)  Plus entering into OCC challenge this week - Blossoms)

And finally - the last card is for The Play Date Cafe's latest challenge - colours to use: Silver or Gray, Clay, Cream and Turquoise.  Think it fits the bill.  I used my new Borderabilites to make the scallop, a new set of stamps from Fiskars for the flower ( coloured with water coloured pencil) sentiment from Stampin'Up ( stamped in Potters Clay ink from Momento) and ribbon from my stash ( not sure where it came from)
