Textured Christmas for Die Cut Divas

It's the last day for the All Kinds of Holidays at Die Cut Divas.   Our sponsor this month has been Cheapo Dies.

I've made a CAS textured Christmas card.

I used some embossing folders to make my panels and a die to make my sentiment.  Although I did not use any Cheapo dies, you should check them out - so many gorgeous dies from many different companies.

Thanks for stopping by.

Playing at Hero Arts Fans Scramble Faceboook page.

Recently the Hero Arts Fans Scramble took place over at Facebook and I took part. Char set us a challenge to use 2 or more Hero Arts stamps - so I pulled out some old wooden block stamps to make this quick card

I started by stamping the Postcard stamp and hand cutting it out.  I used a black Memento pen to colour around the edge.  I then used the flower stamp and the Happy Birthday sentiment to finish off the card.  I used some yellow Altenew ink to sponge over the tag.  I used an embossing folder to make the background panel and edged it with black before adding to a white card.

It was great to use some of my older stamps.

Autumn at Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Hi... I'm back to share an Autumn card for the challenge at Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog.  Our theme for this week is "Autumn" - which for me is strange as it's Spring time here in NZ

I used a background that I had in my stash.  It was a Gelli plate print made with green inks and a Catherine Pooler stencil called Marching Leaves.   Recently I watched a Gina K Designs Facebook Live where she used a real leaf to make a print.  I found this leaf in my garden.  I don't know what sort it was but it looked awesome when I added Versamark ink and rubbed it onto the gelli plate background and used some Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.  I added a little bit of some Distress Oxide ink on the leaf for a bit of added colour.  I embossed the sentiment from a Catherine Pooler set called Leaf Motifs onto a little die cut flag.

Do come and join us with your Autumn projects.

White on White Christmas card

Hi there.  It's my turn to share at Die Cut Divas.  Our challenge this month is All Kinds of Holdiays... and our sponsor is Cheapo Dies

Today I am sharing a White on White Christmas card.

I took the candles die and cut it from White card.  I used Gina K Master layouts 2 to cut the panel I added the candles too.  I have added a soft amount of green pencil onto the holly leaves (hard to see on the photo)  The sentiment is from Sunny Studios.  A few white gems finished off the card.

EDITED:  I have now entered this into the Christmas Kickstart challenge - white on white.

Although my dies are not from Cheapo Dies, but they have a lot of wonderful dies.

Do come and join us at Die Cut Divas.

WWC 290 Michelle's Challenge: All About Occasions

Welcome to another challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  Michelle is our hostess with an All About Occasions challenge.

I have a great technique card to share today.  I recently took part in an Altenew class called Stunningly Styled Stencils.

One of the techniques we learnt was to take the ink blended stencil. spritz with water and "print" it onto card. I used an Altenew stencil - Feathered Leaves. My original background was on my Father's day card -here.  Makes a dreamy looking background.  The card was quick to pull together - I pulled out two already watercoloured flowers and a sentiment that was already stamped and in my "magic cup".  I just had to white emboss some leaves from Altenew's Natures Blossom set and watercolour them.  Love how all come together.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 11.00 am NZ time ) to link up your project.

A Christmas card with No stamping. - and a kitchen update

Hi there..... well I haven't been doing much card making over the week or so.... as I've been making masks.... I made myself a no-fog mask and wore it at work.  Well won't you know it... people asked me to make some.... so sewed all weekend and then had to take a day off work on Wednesday to sew all day... Actually I was home as the bench was to be installed. Which is another story of it's own!!!!

I needed to get some more material - I had an order for  5 masks with a Maori design as part of the daily prizes for our Maori Language week celebrations - so headed to a local shopping area where there is an shop called Ike's Emporium.  It stocks a multitude of things. They buy end of lines etc.  Their stock of materials is awesome and also very reasonable.  I found a variety of Polyensian designs and found some Maori looking designs as well.

Whilst in Browns Bay, I popped into one of the stationery stores and picked up a pack from an older magazine.  The store keeps the extra freebies and sells them for a small price.  I chose a Christmas pack that had a stamp set of Christmas images, a little poinsettia die, some patterned papers, some preprinted cards and some chipboard sheets of images.    So when I saw Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge was No Stamping Allowed I knew I could whip up a quick card with the chipboard images.

I took one of the cards and used the back to make my green panel.  I then used the sentiment, birds and flowers from the chipboard.  I used the mini dimensionals that came with the kit to add them all to the card and then added it all to a navy blue base.  A few gold sequins finished it off.

So Wednesday with the bench... I was watching the installers bringing the panel with the sink cut out and noticed that there were where two holes - one for the tap and another one near it.  I had specified when the guy came to measure up that we were NOT having a air switch for the disposal unit - so only should have been one hole.  Well long story short... they had to take it away and get a new panel cut!  An expensive mistake for the stone cutters!  At least the cabinet maker was able to get the overbench pantry installed.  Tonight the bench installers arrived at 4.45pm to get the missing benches and the window sills done... finished at around 7.00pm.  Still about 2% to be finished off.  The riser between the bench and the window sill has to be cut to size and the splash back to be added.  They are due back next Thursday.  We will have to put off the plumber as he can not add the tap until the riser is in.  So still a week or so till we can start using the kitchen.

Thanks for stopping by.

WWC 289 Heidi's Challenge: Anything Goes With a Masculine Twist

Welcome back to another challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  This week Heidi is our hostess with an Anything Goes with a Masculine Twist.

I do struggle with Masculine cards at times.  This is a very simple card using a background I recently made with my Gelli Plate and some stencils.  I forgot to note which inks I used.  I know they are Distress Oxides.  I made the base layer with a pale green, used the stencil to remove some colour and then use the stencil in the normal way.

I cut my panel into three pieces and added to a dark green card base.  I then took the Altenew Apothecary label stamp set and used some Mountain Pine ink.  I used my MISTI as I inked the stamp 4 times to get a good dark coverage.  I then took an Altenew sentiment and white embossed it onto the label.

Pets at Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog

Time for another challenge at Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog.  And our theme this week is "Pets"

I chose to make a card with some cats on it.  A couple of months ago we said farewell to our beloved black cat Snoopy...

I used some Patterned Paper for the background and used some Memory Box die cut cats.  I added a Hello sentiment from Altenew's Mega Labels.    A very CAS card.

Do come and join the challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week.

WWC 288 - Kath's Challenge - All About Occasions

Hi there.... It's time for the weekly challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  Today it's Kath who is our hostess with an All About Occasions challenge.

Today I am sharing my Dad's birthday card.   His birthday is the 10th (which it is already here in NZ)

While in lockdown in Mar- May my friend and I did an order from Altenew.  The original package got lost  but Altenew were awesome and send the order again.  One of the items I had ordered was the Happy Birthday to you stamp set and the Treble Love die set.  It's been tucked away in the drawer since but I pulled it out to make Dad's birthday card.   This one was inspired by the awesome Virginia Lu.   I stamped the lines of music in Obsidian ink and then stamped the words in Heartbeat ink.  I trimmed down the panel and added it to a card which I had covered with some grey and gold starred paper.  I used black card to die cut the G-Clef and used a scrap that I had added the Heartbeat ink on to cut out the heart.  I added some Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the heart.

I also decorated the inside of the card

The DAD is from a Newton's Nook set called Winston's BBQ.    I did a little stamp surgery on the Altenew sentiment to get it to fit.

WWC 287 - Helen's Challenge- Anything Goes with a Feminine Twist.

Welcome to my blog today.  It's time for the weekly challenge at Watercooler Wednesday and this week Helen is our hostess with an Anything Goes with a Feminine Twist.

My card today focuses on a Stampendous stamp called Soul Tears.   I used a dark cream card to stamp the image and then used some Zig Markers to colour it.   I trimmed down my card and matted it onto some dark grey shimmery card and then onto a dark red card base.  The base was 13.5cm square and I trimmed it to fit my panel.
