Craft Roulette #234

Finally got time to watch last weekend's Craft Roulette episode #234 and had some "funn" making a card after work today.   I had a design in my mind, so it quickly came together.  This is my 24th submission.

Made my 6"x6" card base from a sheet of 12"x12" white card.  Cut a 5.5" square panel and ran it through my die machine with a MRMK 3D embossing folder to add some texture.   Next I added the burlap and lace cloth.  Layered it onto a black mat. Took some of the rest of the card from the base and added a rainbow of colour with Distress Oxide inks.  Took the outline stamp from Altenew's Beautiful Day and stamped and then die cut.   Stamped the leaves twice, and die cut, leaving them uncoloured.  Finished with a die cut sentiment that was in my baggie of sentiments.

So glad that the thought in my mind actually turned out just how I imagined it!

OCC Rainbow Maker class - more homework

I was not feeling well today - had a Gall Stone episode over night and was still feeling nauseous this morning so had a day off.  Spend the morning reading and then after lunch I decided to do some more  home work for the class.

This ink blending card was inspired by one done by Kristina Warner from Day 1

I used a variety of Altenew inks to blend through a mask made with a Spellbinders Heart die cut.   I used the same colours to stamp the splatter with a Your Next Stamp splatter stamp.  I used 2nd generation stamping to get the softer colours.   The sentiment is from Kaisercraft.
This has been entered into the Add a Sentiment challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday blog.

Feeling better this evening so it will be off to work again in the morning.   We've off to the beach tomorrow for the weekend.  I'm not taking any stamping stuff but might take some pencils and a colouring in book or two.

Rainbow cards....

I've been taking part in the OCC Rainbow marker class - or at least watching the videos.  I did manage to get one card done for my homework.  As part of the Altenew sale, I purchased the Simple Flowers stamps and dies and had an idea to stamp the flowers in different rainbow colours.  I decided to use Catherine Pooler inks as they are so vibrant and will make the flowers pop.

And I was super pleased with the result.  I added lots of Spectrum Noir glitter pen on the flowers to give it a shimmery shine.

And here's a bit of a sneak peek of the latest Challenge at StampNation... it's all about using your border stamps and I did a rainbow card

Full reveal is over at StampNation.  Do come and join.  It is well worth it.

Digital rainbows with Hero Arts

It is my day to share over at A2Z Scrapabooking.  Our challenge this month is all about EMBELLISHING your project.

Did you know that A2Z Scrapbooking sells the Hero Arts digital stamps and cut files  (see HERE)  We certainly do!

Wishing you rainbows

I used Hero Arts Weather Cut Digital file.  Although this is a cut file, I do not have an electronic cutting machine, so I just used the PNG file and added to a Word Document.  I printed the umbrella  four times, each time changing the colour of the print.  I then printed it onto the main panel with the clouds and sentiment.  I fussy cut out the different colours and paper pieced them back onto the card.   I also printed one copy of the umbrella onto some masking paper and  used it to mask while I sponged the  rainbow background.   I added a flourish and some Hero Arts flowers and heart gems.  Some glossy accents for the rain on the clouds and some raindrops.   I used a sewing tool to do some wriggly lines around the panel before adding to my card base.

One great advantage with using our Digi kits is that you can make you image any size.   And using even a simple WORD programme it's fun to change the colours or even print out in a very light colour to do no line colouring on an image.

Did you also know you can now get free shipping (for USA only) for Orders $50.00 or More. Use Code FreeShipping16
And for every $50 spent on Hero Arts products we will send you a special gift! No special code needed.
Or use my code DAWN15 off your purchase of $25 or more. (before tax and shipping)  - note you can only use one code so chose what suits you best

Rainbow Birthday

While I had my Geo Builders stamp set out over the long weekend, I made another Rainbow card.  I have a very ancient Colorbox rainbow ink pad.  I was surprised to find it was still very juicy.

I stamped the Geo Builders stamp once, then turned it around and stamped again... this gives the circle looking image.  I masked off the little stripe, and used the ink pad to colour.  I also used ink direct to card to colour up some cardstock to die cut the You.  The sentiment is from the SOA Beautiful world collection, the You stamp set.  Added the little hearts that were part of the die set as well as some other little hearts and stars.

We had an awesome long weekend - very relaxing and then on Monday we travelled 1.5hrs south to watch our nephew Jason, play in the Waikato rugby team against Thames Valley.  It was a Ranfurly Shield game.  It was his debut for his regional team and he did well.  Even scored a try!  It was a great day out, catching up with a few of the family who went to watch.

Thanks for stopping by.

Rainbow texture.

It's my turn at A2Z Scrapbooing again today.  And I have a  card using a stencil, Texture Paste, watercolour Zig Brush markers and a die cut to share.

Rainbow embossed background

I used the Leaf and Flourish stencil with Ranger Texture Paste .  Once it dried I coloured with the Zig Markers and totally spritzed with water to mix.  I left it overnight before trimming it and backing with the black card.  I die cut a tag from black and white embossed the sentiment and heart from the Hello Stamp and Die. I used a Copic marker to colour the heart.  I coloured a scrap of watercolour paper and die cut the Hello.  This card is heading off to my Mum who is not well.  As she lives in another country, this is my HUG to here - the one I wish I could give her right now!

My card was inspired by the Craftsy class I took.  It is a class by Catherine Pooler and I can highly recommend it.  21 different techniques.  One lesson is on Stenciling with Creative Mediums.

As I used some twine to tie on my tag, I'm entering this into the Tie it Up challenge at Simon Says Stamp
