Christmas cards galore!

WARNING... PHOTO HEAVY

My Mojo is still waning.... and I need to make some Christmas cards - getting asked at work when am I bringing them in to sell!   So while I was in Spotlight yesterday morning getting some knitting needles to make some little Ugg boots for the upcoming arrival... I spotted a pack of pre-cut dies cuts
So I thought that with some patterned papers  I might get some cards done with out too much effort,

These first two use die cut poinsettias.  I enhanced them with some grey pencils.  The first one was added to some purple patterned paper and used a Kaisercraft  sentiment embossed onto black card and the second one used an embossed panel with the same sentiment.

Loved these three gnomes so added them all together on the one card.  I grounded them with a strip of bronze glitter washi tape.  The panel was embossed in the upper corners and finished with a gnome sentiment.

The next two cards used patterned paper.  One had a little touch of stamping of some pine branches in the corner.

the deer and the Merry Christmas banner are actually silver but it was very hard to get the photo to show this.  Both papers came from a Recollections paper pack
Recollections Paper Pad Festive 6x6 Assorted

And my final card for the day was a commissioned card.... Request was for something for a NZ'er and his Italian partner who live in Spain..... so came up with NZ Pohutakawa branches covered with some snow.... and with a Spanish sentiment.

Think I got the brief covered.
I am adding this to the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge... it's Tristan's All About Holidays...

Well if you've made it here... thank you for visiting.  Please leave me a comment and let me know if you liked my cards.

Autumn Mini Pizza Box

Hi.  It's my day at Die Cut Divas and I'm sharing an Autumn Project.  Our theme this month is Autumn/Halloween.    Our sponsor is DiesRUs.

I used some alcohol inked background to die cut some leaves.  Add with some leaf flourishes and some flowers spritzed with some Lindy's Gang spray - gives a real shine in real life.

A fun little project that I will use to use as a gift box for a friend.

October CCC

I enjoy taking part in the monthly CCC swap and for October I send my card to England to Jane.  I used the colours and the sketch from the challenge blog

Here's what I came up with.

Jane has let me know she has received the card.... quicker to England than when I sent a card to my Dad in Australia.

Thank for visiting me today

Christmas Holly Wreath.

My Mojo has been on holiday for a couple of weeks now... really struggling to create.  Just the odd card here and there.  In fact over our long weekend, I only managed to make just one card.... mind you, warm sunny weather made me wanted to sit outside which I did, with my book.    Even new stamps haven't really enthused.... but yesterday I did pull out the new Holly Stamp set from Sunny Studio that had arrived on Friday.. and CASE'd a card on their website.

I used several green inks from Altenew to stamp a number of the holly leaves and berries and cut them out with my Scan'N'Cut.  I embossed a background panel with a diamond pattern.    The sentiment is from a freebie set from last year,  I added some Nuvo drops on top of the berries and finished with a grosgrain ribbon bow.

I stamped enough holly leaves to make another wreath  - will change up the background a bit I think.

Sketch inspiration Christmas...

I was watching some You Tube yesterday and saw Dawn Griffith making a card using her Sketch #50 (see it here)

Dawn did a pretty card using a Stampin' Up deer - I CASE'd it using a deer I got with a magazine last year.   I liked the purple colour scheme so went with with that but in a softer version.

I used some PP from the pack I got the other week.  It's all pretty purples, blues, teals and pinks,  I stamped the deer with Catherine Pooler Royal Treatment ink and fussy cut it.  Used my Scan'N'Cut to cut some purple snowflakes.  The sentiment is also from the free stamp set.

I like the sketch so adapted it to use with a regular A6 (NZ sizing) card.  I wanted to make a card for Watercooler Wednesday's Masculine challenge - so used blues to make a masculine Christmas card.

The PP is again, from the same pack.  I trimmed strips 3/4" wide and cut to fit around the background.  I added a white rectangle panel in the middle on which I stamped a Kaisercraft sentiment.  I then stamped the Poinsettia from the same Kaisercraft set and used Prismacolor pencils to colour it blues and greys.    I really loved how this turned out.   I'm going to try out for their Design Team with this one too.

It's a great sketch to jump start a card.  I'll be using it again for sure.

Hope you get to do some crafting over the weekend.  It's a long weekend here in NZ with Monday being Labour Day and a public holiday.   We are going out to dinner on Sat night to celebrate Hubby's birthday (earlier in the week) and the great news that at the end of April 2019 we will be grandparent's again.   My son and his partner are expecting their first child.  Here was their announcement photo

Critter challenge at Southern Girls.

I'm back with my DT card for Southern Girls Challenge...

I used a sweet little image from All Dressed Up called Christmas Penguins

I printed the image onto some Canson Mi-teintes paper and used my Prismacolour pencils to colour.  I die cut with Lil Inkers stitched rectangle dies.

Do come along and join our challenge with your Critter cards...

CAS Christmas - Birds

I haven't been doing much this week as I've been working on  a commission for a girl from work.   She wanted a card for her husband for their anniversary, but wanted a number of photos on it... so I suggested an exploding box  - that gave me an ability to use all the photos of their wedding and the family.  I really am pleased with the result but it did take quite some time to get it all done.

Today I did get some time to time to get a quick CAS Christmas card done for the the CAS Christmas card challenge - cue word BIRDS

I used a die cut to make my dove from silver mirror card.  It was a die from a couple of years ago that came with a magazine.  I die cut the frame with a MFT die.  The sentiment was from another freebie set from a few years ago as well.

And here is a quick collage of the exploding box - not fully finished

I've added more photos and the lid has a photo of them on their wedding day with the words For Ever die cut and other embellishments and sentiments on some of the flaps.

Thanks for stopping by.

WCMD - Day Masculine Makes.

Sunday I decided that as it was still WCMD on the other side of the world and hubby was watching car racing that I would spend some time playing.    I have twin great nephews turning 12 at the end of the month and my hubby has a birthday next week.

For the twins I really struggled with what to do.  I did some pinterest searching and decided to make some graphic looking cards.

I pulled out a couple of paper pads and got co-ordinating patterns to make the each card.  My sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I was happy with the results.

And for my hubby I CASE'd a card from a magazine using the stamps and papers from the kit that came with the magazine.

I was really pleased with the way it turned out.  I used Altenew Rose Gold embossing powder.

I enjoyed my weekend of crafting and hope you did as well.

World Card Making Day/ Weekend....

6 October is World Card Making Day so I invited my friend Suna over to have a "play date" with me.  We spent a couple of hours together... chatting and crafting... I haven't seen her for some time as she retired from work in April (we worked for the same Government Department) so it was great to catch up and enjoy the hobby we both love.

I got a DT card finished and a couple of quick Christmas cards done as well as my NZ couple technique swap card done... But as it's going to Maxine (who is a follower here)  won't be sharing that one till I know she has it!

So here are the two quick Christmas cards I made.  Using only patterned paper from a pack by Recollections called Northern Lights.  It is a beautiful pad with soft blues, teals, pinks etc.

I added some Wink of Stella onto the stars and called them done!  How quick is that.

I also started a card using some free stamps from a magazine and using one of the sample cards as inspiration.   Suna has shown me how she uses her watercolour pencils to colour without using water with them so I decided to try it with my Faber Castell watercolour pencils.... Finished it off after she left.

I added some sparkle to the centre of the flowers with Wink of Stella.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  I used some Catherine Pooler inks to stamp the leaves that are directly on the card.   The edge die came with the stamps in the magazine.  I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Watercooler Wednesday's Anything Goes Feminine challenge
The Flower Challenge's Sparkle Challenge
MFT - World Card making Day - Flower Power challenge.

And of course because it's still the 6th in the Northern Hemisphere (7th here in NZ) I did some more cards today... will share later in the week.

Hope you got to spend some time crafting, be it stamping, cardmaking, scrapbooking... as long as you had the chance to be creative...

September Sursee

Over at StampNation there is a swap called the Sursee Swap.   It is not your traditional swap... if  you join for the swap, you get to send an encouragement card to someone.... but not every month will you get one back..... Sursee mean a small, thoughtful gift, unexpected gift, just because.

September Sursee was to be inspired by Craft for a Cause-   September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month and Erica put together this Teal Ovarian Cancer awareness board in honor of one of her dear survivor friends.

My card went to Betty in the States.  I was inspired by the teal bicycle so here's what I did

Thanks Betty for taking a photo of this as I forgot!  The bike stamp was a freebie from a magazine.  The sentiment is from Kaisercraft.

It's a great and thoughtful idea and I love taking part.

EDITED:  The day after I wrote this I got a gorgeous card in the post from Kathleen...

Very pretty and so unexpected.

September's CCC Reveal

After missing August's CCC I joined the fun for September.   My card was sent to Hilary in the UK.

As I was a little pushed for time, I chose to use the theme: Friendship

I stamped the flower wreath by Spectrum Noir and used Altenew paints to colour the flowers.  The sentiment is from a Kaisercraft set.  It seemed to fit perfectly in the circle of flowers.   I matted it with some lavender lacy patterned paper.    It made it's way to Hilary very quickly - less than a week.

It's always fun to get a card from somewhere in the world... my card arrived from Linda in Michigan

I have signed up for October's CCC and am getting really to make my card to send away.

Thanks for visiting me today.
