My last card for Creative Craft Cottage.

Today is my final day as a design team member at Creative Craft Cottage.  I've enjoyed my time on the team and a big thanks to Eileen for having me there.

So for my final card....

Our sponsor is The Cutting Cafe and I used a pocket cut.  As I don't have an electronic cutter I used the PDF files and printed the pocket onto my striped PP and fussy cut.  I hand punched some holes and linked them up to make my stitching. Add a couple of black enamel dots for rivets. My white sentiment is a Peelcraft sticker.   I trimmed down a tag and stamped and embossed the Kaisercraft sentiment.

Today I will be in Singapore enjoying some sunshine and warmth on my way to Prague to start our European Adventure.

Add a bow....

Latest challenge is now up at Creative Craft Cottage  and our theme is to use a Bow on your creation.

Our sponsor is Ppinkydolls

I  used a lovely image

I printed it out and used some pencils to lightly colour.  I used a Spellbinders oval die and the Floral oval die to cut the image.  I edged with a gold pen.  I added a Cheery Lynn bow die cut in bright pink for a pop of colour.  My base card was embossed with Swiss dots folder.

We would love to have you join us this fortnight.

Time for lots of challenges....

It's never rains but it pours... Two of my Design Teams have new challenges starting today and I still haven't shared my example for Die Cut Divas from the 1st.... where have the days gone...  So a photo heavy post today.

First up Die Cut Divas-  Something Yummy to Eat or Drink
Our sponsor is Doodle Pantry and I used both patterned paper and fruit for my card.

I did some editing in Word with the PP and the image.  I then coloured with Copics.

Now on to Southern Girls Challenge ~ Animal Crackers.
The sponsor this time are Oak Pond Creations and Polka Doodles.  I used an Oak Pond Creations image called Trash Cats

Aren't they just adorable.  I used some PP from Kaisercraft for my background and the little sentiment is also from the same pack.  The kitty's were coloured with Copics

Next up is Creative Craft Cottage - All that glitters
Our sponsor is All Dressed Up and I chose to use these three cute little ladies...

A very cute image that I had fun colouring with my Copics and adding lots of glitter to their dresses and bows, as well as around the sentiment.

and finally I have a card I created for Chalk'n'Stock this month.  An Anything Goes challenge as usual, as long as you use chalk on your project...

A Bugaboo image coloured with Copics and chalks used to colour the grass and the sky.  Happy Birthday is stamped with Winnie & Walter stamps.

Thanks so much for persevering and getting to the end of this post... hope something here inspires you and if you'd like to join us for any of these challenges, we'd love to see your creations.

Use a Die Cut... new challenge at Creative Craft Cottage

Yes, the latest challenge at Creative Craft Cottage is up and it's right up my alley... use a die cut on your card.   As you know I have a TON of dies and just love using die cuts on my cards.

We have two sponsors this fortnight...

I used an image from Lemon Shortbread for my card

I started by making my base card.  I used a Clearly Besotted leaf stamp to make a patterned background.  I put the image in a Word document and cropped it.  Once I coloured it, I use a Spellbinder to cut the oval and then the  Floral Oval in purple.  I did a little paper piecing on my image to make her hairband and bow.  I added a Cherry Lynn bow die in the same PP.  Finished with some large pearls.  I haven't added a sentiment... that will go inside when I decided who and when to send it.

So if you love using die cuts on your cards and projects, do hop over and join us at Creative Craft Cottage.

Use a sentiment....

Creative Craft Cottage has it's fortnightly challenge up and running and our theme is Use a sentiment.

Our sponsor this fortnight is Karleigh Sue

And here is my card

The sentiment stamp I used is from a Tim Holtz  set I got last week with my Simon Says Stamp order.  As you know I like to use dies and embossing on my cards and this one certainly does.  The brick wall embossing folder is by Sizzix and the die from Spellbinders.

As you read this, I am enjoying a holiday break away on Kawau Island... We arrived Friday and are staying till Thursday.  We are staying in a friend's bach (holiday house).  To get to the island you came over by ferry.  Our bach is then 49 steps up the hill from the wharf and  51 steps down to the water... so nestled in the bush.  I've got some photos on my iPhone so once I upload I'll do a post showing you the seclusion. Not a lot to do but read, swim and occasionally catch up with blogs... don't have a whole heap of data on my phone which I'm hotspotting so I can use the computer.

Thanks for visiting.

Bingo time and Borders and Punches

The beginning of the month is a busy time for me... both Creative Craft Cottage and CCC Digi Creations start a new challenge.
Over at Creative Craft Cottage our theme is Colour/Bingo

I used the Bingo board...the top line..

My white background was cut with a Penny Black die which I then added to a cream white card base.  The flowers are from a Spellbinders die, cut from some Core'dinations card which was then sanded. Tiny buttons added for my flower centres.  Added these over a leaf die from Hero Arts.  Finished with a  white seam binding bow. My sentiment is from Hero Arts.  This card is also the one I sent to Cat in USA for my September CCC.

At CCC Digi Designs our theme is Borders/Punches.  Our sponsor is Oak Pond Creations

I chose to use a pretty bouquet of daisies.

I printed it onto some blue card and the used a Martha Stewart round the edge punch to make my frame.  Used some Glossy Accents on the flower centres.

I see I had a bit of a theme going here too...

Hope you take some time to visit the blogs and see what my team mates came up with.

New challenges at Creative Craft Cottage and CCC Digi Creations

Both of our Creative Craft Cottage challenges are up today.
Over at CCC Digi Creations the theme this fortnight is Digi/Things with Wings

This fortnight's sponsor is

Kathryne is offering one lucky winner, their choice
of 5 digi stamps from her store.

I used this  butterfly and the sentiment is from this set.

Printed the butterfly and the sentiment onto watercolour paper and then used paints to colour.  Added a line of washi tape along the bottom.

And over at Creative Craft Cottage we have a sketch/colour board.

For this one I used different Patterned Papers for my layers.  The focal point is cut from some watercolour paper.  I masked the edges and stamped a WPlus9 rose and coloured with Copics.  I then used some water colour paint to do a wash of green.  Added some pink and green sequins and finished with a Hero Arts stamp.

I'm entering this into the Patterned Paper challenge at Virginia's View this month and this weeks challenge at Simon Says Stamp ~ Anything goes.
And Crafting when we can.... borrow a sketch

Do come and join us at CCC Digi Creations and Creative  Craft Cottage

Flowers and Hearts

The first of the month is always busy for me.  Three of the Challenge blogs that I'm a designer for all post on the first today. So first today I will share my sample for Creative Craft Cottage... a New Zealand based challenge blog ~ but we are open to everyone to join us!  Our theme this fortnight is Flowers and Hearts.  I decided to try something a little different.

I found the instructions in a magazine and adapted it to the dies I have.   I also made my own flowers with some recycled paper from an invitation to a wedding.  The heart is a Spellbinders die.  Finished with a lot of bling.  I even decorated the inside.   We would really love to have you join us at Creative Craft Challenge.  You just have to have use either flowers or a heart or both if you wish ~ like me!

Black and White at Creative Craft Cottage

It's the first of the month so it's a new challenge at Creative Craft Cottage and it's my teams turn to highlight our samples.  The theme is "Black and White"

Black and White

My card uses a Rubbadubbadoo stamp.  I stamped it in black ink on white card and white embossed it onto black card.  I trimmed 4 squares and rounded the opposite corners on each one.  I wish now that I had embossed the black on white.. The stamped the Hero Arts sentiment and double matted it with black and white.  Finished with a double bow made with gingham ribbon.  I had forgotten my BowEzy and used a fork to make the little bow.

Do pop over to the blog to see what the other's have created.

Happy New Year....

It's New Years Day here in NZ ~ so a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my readers...

Stayed up to see the New Year in and woke this morning to my son cooking bacon and eggs for breakfast for the 10 of us staying in the holiday house at the moment.   After that, Mum, Dad, hubby and I headed about 30kms up the road, to Waipu to watch the Highland Games.  Waipu is was founded by Scots a very long time ago... in fact, this years games were the 143rd.  Got drenched then sumburnt before getting rained on again.  But all in all a fun day.

this was the mass pipe band.

Anyway being the first of the month, two challenges I'm involved in start their new challenges.... First up is Creative Craft Cottage which has a theme "Quote Me"  Use your favourite quote

I made two cards to share -

"Quotes" Sample for Creative Craft Cottage

I love this quote from Couture Creations.  Die cut the Spellbinders De-lite oval and stamped the quote.  Used an old Mojo Monday sketch with co-coordinating papers from a pack by Melissa Frances.  The flowers is a hand made one.

and my second card used a quote from one of the sheets of quotes that our sponsor Imagine If provided for us to use.

I trimmed out the sentiment quote and then with some creative use of my die, cut a longer backing tag.  Used the method I've seen Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Warner use of partial cutting the die, moving it along a bit and finishing off the rest to lengthen the tag.  I used some Christmas paper for my backing paper and some roses I had in my stash.  The pink one was in a swap I got from Paula Lynne and the two white ones were Prima ones.  Cut a holly branch die

The second challenge under way on the first is Die Cut Divas.... but as it's USA based, it doesn't actually start for another 5 and a bit hours so I'll share tomorrow my time.  We have an awesome sponsor this month and a great challenge from Arlene.... look out for it.

Thanks for stopping by.  2014 is going to be an awesome year so continue to come and visit me, it makes my day.

Say it with Flowers

Today is my first post for Creative Craft College DT and our challenge is "Say it with Flowers"

I used a new WPlus9 stamp set called Fresh Cut Floral with the matching die set.

Fresh Floral Cuts

I CASE'd a card I found on the Wplus9 blog.  I stamped in a variety of distress inks after die cutting the flowers and leaves and layered them up.  The background is some woodgrain cardstock from Simon Says Stamps.  The sentiment is from the stamp set.

Do hop over to the blog to see what the other's have come up with... some beautiful projects from the A Team.  We've the New Zealand team... from all round New Zealand.  Would love to have you join us in the challenge.

Well it's a new month and that means it's a new challenge over at Die Cut Divas.  I'll be back tomorrow to show you what I made...

A challenge to use chipboard or cardboard..............

Last month I joined in the challenge at Creative Craft Cottage and was lucky to win the lovely prize of beautiful hand crafted crochet doilies which arrived today and an email from Eileen asking if I would like to join the DT.  Now this little challenge blog is run by New Zealanders so how could not say YES.

This month's challenge is  "Chipboard or Cardboard".  I have a couple of cards to share using chipboard and cardboard.

First up is a card I made a while back using a chipboard angel.

and my second card I just finished tonight that uses a cardboard sticker from My Mind's Eye.  It's from their chalkboard collection

I white embossed the sentiment from Kaisercraft and used a white gel pen to go over the edging and scroll and around the word "Christmas"

I'm adding the bottom one to the Moxie Fab World Sticker/Tape challenge

Our challenge runs till 12.00pm on the 31st October (NZ Time) so there's plenty of time to join us.  All are welcome.
