WWC #245 Anything Goes Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  As it's the 5th Wednesday of the month, it's an Anything Goes Challenge.

My card today is an Autumnal Thankful card.

This was made by taking some white card and using the Newton's Nook 2 part stencil with Altenew's Autumn Blaze and Firebrick inks.  I then added the light orange card stamped in with Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake ink with a sentiment from Catherine Pooler's Autumn Blessings.  I added a die cut strip of dark brown card.  I die cut a number of Kraft leaves from an older Cuttlebug set of die cuts and used some Altenew watercolour paints to colour them up.  One they dried I scrunched them a little for some texture before adding to the card base.  A few sequins to finish.

Come and join the fun.  Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday
Challenge have created.  Then take our challenge ant link your creation to the challenge post.  We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday at 5 pm  Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 11.00am NZ time ) to link up your project.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Halloween/Black & Orange.

Time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' Challenge and this week it's Team Susan with a theme of Halloween/Black & Orange.

My card incorporated both parts of the theme.

I used a cute stamp from Penny Black for my main image.  I used Zig Watercolour Markers to colour my kitty in.  I made a mask and then did some ink blending and sprayed with some silver paint.  As I didn't have a Halloween sentiment to hand, I printed one on my computer.  My background striped paper was some digi paper I had sitting in my stash from a number of years ago.

Do come and join us at Sweet Stampin' Challenge.

For my project today I am inspired by wonderful golden/orange palette of the Fall foliage.

The basis for my card was the stamped leaves I made awhile back with my Gelli plate, some Altenew inks and stamps.  This piece was the stamp off piece as I was making patterns with the leaves onto the Gelli plate. I overstamped the outline leaves in a darker orange.  My Thankful die is from Catherine Pooler Designs and the little For You is from Catherine Pooler Designs "Autumn Blessings" stamp set.

WWC#244 Helen's "All About Occasions" challenge.

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Helen is our hostess this week with an "All About Occasions" challenge

Today I am sharing a Wedding card I was asked to make.  My friend gave me a copy of the wedding invitation and requested that I have them name on the front of the card.    The invitation had roses in pink and dark red so that's what I decided to use.   I made the card a 5" x 7" card so I could get the roses on.

I used my computer to print the couple's names on the front.  I have a little chart that gives the RBG colour numbers to print out a gold colour.  I then used flowers from three Altenew stamp sets - Wallpaper Art, Beautiful Day and Peony Bouquet.  I did some masking to make my flower arrangement.  I used a mixture of Altenew Alcohol Markers and Spectrum Noir markers.

Come join in the fun.  Check out the projects that the artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created then take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Mondays at 5 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (Tuesdays at 12 noon NZ time) to link up your project.

Christmas Kickstart - Bells

I'm super excited to be the Guest Elf at Christmas Kickstart Challenge this week.

Jo's theme this week is Bells

I've chosen to use my favourite Christmas Bell from a stamp set by Sunny Studios - Holiday Style

I stamped the branches from the stamp set in Juniper Mist from Catherine Pooler Designs.   I then used Altenew Silver Stone, Industrial Diamond and Pure Graphite to stamp the bells.  I added Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen.  I added some Peelcraft stickers for hangers and die cut some little red bows from an Impression Obsession die.  The Silent Night die cut is from Couture Creations and is cut from the some dark grey pearlised card as the mat.

Thanks Jo for having me as your elf helper for this challenge.

Joy Wreath

Feeling better today albeit that I'm still coughing a lot!  I've been busy with taking the cat to the vet and doing my grocery shopping but time now to play.

I was looking for a sentiment the other day and came across Altenew's Sophisticated wreath stamp set.  I've used one sentiment from it before, but not used the rest of the set.   I decided to combine with some die cuts and make a Christmas card.

I stamped the pine branch three times using two Altenew green inks and the rock and roll technique.  As I have the matching dies, I cut them out and layered them over each other to form the wreath.  I add Nuvo drops as the berries on it.  The little Joy die cut is from a Couture Creations die set called Joyous Frame.   I had the woodgrain paper sitting on my desk and matted it with kraft and layered onto the white square base.  The bow is a die cut (unknown brand) cut with some dark mahogany card stock.    A quick card to add to the growing stash of Christmas cards.

Floral cards this week.

Hi there.   I've been very sick this week and haven't felt much like crafting... Got what I thought was a head cold on Saturday but by Tuesday knew it was something more as my back was hurting when I coughed and my throat was raw, so a visit to the doctor's confirmed - Tonsillitis as well as crackly and wheezy chest so antibiotics, two lots of inhalers and the rest of the week off.  Plus she said it it wasn't better in two days to go back, which I did this morning.... good news - wheezy and crackly chest clear but now a touch of bronchitis.  Another antibiotic added now.

Yesterday I felt a bit better and my friend Suna, came over to pick up some stamps I'd ordered for her that arrived on Wednesday.  We try and buy together to save on postage.   She brought her pre-stamped images and Polychromos pencils and we spend a couple of hours  stamping, colouring and having a nice time together.

I had already made one card with the goodies that arrived on Wednesday - couldn't help myself!  I got an Altenew stencil, a stamp and die set and some die cut washi.   So I have two cards to share today

First the stenciled card.

This stencil is called Rose Bouquet and it's lovely and large.  I masked off the leaves and stenciled the roses in the inks from the Shades of Purple set.  Then I masked the flowers and stenciled the greens with Parrot, Olive and a touch of Moss inks.  I stamped the sentiment from the Camellia Japonica Build a Flower set but messed it up so gold embossed it onto some black card and added it to the card.  I added the panel to a kraft card base.   I added a few sequins to finish off.

Yesterday I gave the stamping and layering the Camellia Japonica stamp.  I hadn't realised it was such a bit flower.

I used the four pink inks.  I did two different pink sets but used the one stamped with the inks from the Cherry Blossom set.   I used Parrot, Olive and Moss for the leaves.  I die cut all the pieces and decided to make a soft pink  blended background with Baby Pink ink. The sentiment is from Sincere Greetings stamp set.  I'm entering this one into the CAS challenge at The Flower Challenge.  Hope it is CAS enough.

Thanks for visiting me today.

WWC243 - Heidi's Masculine "Anything Goes" Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Heidi  is our hostess this week with an "Anything Goes" masculine challenge

.
October 16th is my Hubby's birthday so today I am sharing the card I've made for him

Recently My Favorite Things open their Vault and some older stamps and dies became available.  As soon as I saw the basketball boot was in stock, I just had to get it!   So I ordered it and low and behold, within  2 days of me getting notification that it was in the post... it was here on my door step.  That is amazingly quick to here in NZ.   So I set to and a couple of hours later, I had this one done.  I decided to do both boots on the card.  I made my background by using a soft blue grey textured card and using two Altenew grey inks and the Newton's Nook two step stencil to make the Argyle pattern.
I pieced all the bits of the die together.  Let me tell you, all those little circles took a while to add.  But worth it in the end.  I used some white crochet cotton to lace the boots.  I used the matching stamp set to stamp the ankle circle and the sentiment at the bottom of the card.   I'm so happy with this card and am sure Hubby will like it too.

Come join in the fun.  Check out the projects that the artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created then take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Mondays at 5 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (Tuesdays at 12.00am NZ time) to link up your project.

Autumn Colours at Sweet Stampin' challenge

Hi all.  It's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog.   Our theme this week is Harvest/Autumn colours.  My card uses Autumn colours

I started by using Rose Gold Altenew Embossing Powder with a Hero Arts background stamp called "Leafy Vines" and then I used Marigold, Autumn Blaze, Firebrick and Milk Chocolate Altenew inks to blend an Ombre background.  I used a Hero Arts sentiment from "Messages with a Flourish"  which I embossed onto white card and layered onto some more ink blended card.  I added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Do come and join us at the Challenge blog with your Autumn or Harvest cards.

Woodland Creatures at Christmas Kickstart Challenge.

There's a new theme on the Christmas Kickstart Challenge.   Jo has challenged us to use Woodland Creatures on our cards.   I had a Rosie's Studio fox stamp set, plus a set that came with the September Make Cards Today that had some cute foxes on it... so I came up with two cards.

https://christmaskickstartchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/10/the-christmas-kickstart-challenge-21.html

This was the first card I did and I have to say it's my favourite.   The little fox is from Rose's Studio,  I struggled to use the layering stamps so just stamped the detail layer and used a Altenew ink and a Tombow blender pen to colour it it.  I fussy cut him out ( yes, decided it was a boy!) My base was made by die cutting a Simon Says Stamp stitched circle die.  I used the free stamp set to stamp the Holly leaves around the edge.  and to stamp the sentiment.    To make the inside of the of the circle, I used Altenew inks to ink blend the background.  I added the layer trees from another freebie set.  For the snow banks I did some more ink blending.  I then some White Out correction pen for the snow on the trees and as the snow falling.  I added Foxy and it was done.  - but then as I as layering the top layer over the base - I got some blue ink on the front, so to save it, I did some more ink blending on the card.

I'm also entering this one into
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Christmas
 Crimbo Crackers - Anything Goes - Christmas/Festive
2 Crafty Critter Crazies - Anythings Goes (thanks Carol G for letting me know about the challenge)
Virginia's Show and Share

My second card is very CAS

I started with the panel - it was already cut on my desk.  I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder to add some texture as I knew I wanted to keep it all white.   I stamped the little Foxy onto the base card. I used Zig Markers to colour up the image and added the sentiment and ran a gold pen around the oval.

Both of these have been added to Jo's challenge.

WWC 242 - Marsha's "All About Occasions" challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Marsha is our hostess this week with an "All About Occasions" challenge.

My card is a Birthday card for my friend who recently turned 65.  I wanted something a bit elegant for her.

I used Altenew Playful Plumeria and the matching dies.  To make my background I used some Anko Pump Paints.  This brand is a KMart brand and these are spray paints.  There were three bottles - Gold, Bronze and Silver - all for $5 so great value.  I took some black card and sprayed the bronze and silver onto it.  I then die cut a circle with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Dies and added the black piece behind it.  I die cut the branch from the bronze card and trimmed it down a little.  I stamped the two Plumeria flowers in Altenew's ink (Sunray, Chamomile, Snapdragon adn Marigold) and die cut them out and added to the branch.  The sentiment is from Rosie's Studio (a New Zealand based company).

Come join in the fun.  Check out the projects that the artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created then take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Mondays at 5 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (Tuesdays at 11.00am NZ time) to link up your project.

WWC241 - Dawn's "Feminine Anything Goes" Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  I'm our hostess this week with an "Feminine Anything Goes" challenge.

Of course, as it's a feminine challenge, I just had to go with flowers.

A couple of weeks ago I was totally struggling with layering these flowers (Peony Bouquet set).  My stamps are extremely well used, and have gone a bit discoloured.  I asked some advise on the Altenew Fan Group of facebook and got some great ideas.  So for these I did a mixture of doing a die cut first and using it in my MISTI to do the outline and the first two layers and then used my Stampin' Up Stampamajig to line up the last layer.   I added some of the leaves from the Peony Bouquet and some from the Leaf Canopy set.  The sentiment is from the Leaf Canopy set.

Spetember CCC reveal

Today I am sharing the card I made for the CCC September swap.
Badge Grab
My card went to Kath in the UK.  Our themes included "Things With Wheels"  so I went with that and the Friendship theme and the Crayons for my product.

I made my background with some watercolour crayons.  I haven't used these for so long!  I used them also with some pencils to colour the little flowers and grass die cut.  The Pennyfarthing is a Memory Box die.  The sentiment is from an Altenew set.  After I stamped it I was cleaning the Hello and it fell of the block... and do you think I can find it - No!  I have no idea where it disappeared.   I think it might have ended up in the rubbish and been thrown out.

If you haven't heard about CCC join us here

Thanks for stopping by.
